MASTERMINDS'09 - Winners!

It was a riveting finale at this year's Masterminds'09 - The Quiz that happens ever year to crown the champion team in Campus!

The contest was held Xclusive for the first year students - who from now on will take on the reigns of the PSGIM Quiz Club!

Though the turn out was not good, we had an exciting quiz! And it did live up to our campaign which said - LIVE THE THRILL OF QUIZZING!(Remember,it was held on Friday, the 13th!!!)

The contest very much went down to the wire! Going into the final question, we had a tie with the 2 lead teams on 90pts each!!! And more than Knowledge, Reflexes decided the Winners!

However, Mithun Kamal & Vijaya Kumar(I PGDM) held their nerves to hit the buzzar & hit the bull's eye on the final question which was the video Ad of Tata Indicom that had The Pathan family on it!
The runners-up : Karthik Kannan & Sravan(I MBA) came up with some brilliant answers all throughout the show! Manikandan & Saravanan Palanichamy came third.

BaluMahendran & Roopesh Balaji - I MBA

Of the 6 finalists - 4teams were direct qualifiers and the next 6teams fought it out with their brains for the other 2wild card entries to the finals.

Well done Winners! It's time take on the mantle from your seniors and live up to the expectation & tradition!

Masterminds'09 - The Champions league of Quizzing@ PSGIM!!!

Quiz Club -PSG IM invites all 1st yr IM students(in Teams of 2) to be a part of the quizzing Mega-Fest that will span over the next few weeks to crown the "Best Quiz team in Campus"!

Various genres(Sectors) of business will be covered in 3 primary editions followed by the "Grand Finale"! Each of the primary editions will consist of a prelim followed by the finals.

Six finalists from each of the 3 primary editions will automatically Qualify for the Grand Finale!

Is that the only way to qualify for the Grand Finale?
NO! All the participating teams are to be ranked (based on their prelim scores) and will be given wild card entry to participate in the Grand Finale. So Even if you don't make it to the final in any of the Three primary editions... you can still earn an entry for the grand Finale..

So, be Consistent all through the primary editions and earn your team a wild card!
The League of Champions starts on 20th February @ Convention Hall
Friday afternoons(3.30pm onwards...) have been chosen for conducting the event (This is subject to change.)

The Genres :-
20th Feb - Week 1: Let's kick start with the fun associated with Sports, Entertainment & Media
*Plz note that by sports, we do not mean sports per se, we mean business connections to sports
27th Feb - Week 2: It's time to test UR basics in Marketing & Finance( Communication and concepts). Not just concepts...but lots of fun in store with, Branding, Ad campaigns and Ad house&agencies , Financial institutions(banks, insurance companies, mutual funds…)
6th March - Week 3: Technology (It/IteS , Telecom .. etc) , Manufacturing (Auto , Capital goods.. etc) Pharma, Healthcare & Tourism
13th march - Week 4 - The Grand Finale at the Amphitheatre!
After the first 3 weeks, all the finalists of the 3 primary editions along with the wild card entries are eligible for the prelims and they will compete in the Mega finals which would be held at the Amphitheatre!

Note:
*Retain the same team name in all the primary editions
*Switching partners is not permitted once the event kicks off!

Remember....We have all the rights to question you!!!
